About The Fairground

The Fairground Craft Centre is a creative hub for local arts, crafts and small businesses in the North Hampshire area.

Consisting of twelve individual studios and a cafe, some are craft based, others include well being therapies, beauty, a hair salon, a florist, a bookshop plus a Cafe offering delicious light lunches and an excellent range of homemade cakes.

Many of our craft studios offer art and craft workshops where you can learn new skills, meet new people and have fun. The Bookshop regularly holds in person and virtual events with Authors too.

Contact individual business for the latest updated information on current workshops.

Within the embrace of the historic chalk walls is a large community hall which is used for fitness classes, community group meetings and private functions. Visit its page if you are looking to hire a clean and spacious venue.

The site has a long and interesting history. It was the site of The Weyhill Fair once the "greatest Fair in the Kingdom", an agricultural fair which began in medieval times, became enormous in its heyday and continued until the late 1950s. It was rescued from dereliction by Penton Grafton Parish Council, and first opened its doors in Weyhill, Hampshire in October 2003.  The Parish Council aims to offer economic studio space for emerging arts and crafts businesses in North Hampshire. Currently all studios are under lease but if you wish to apply to be on the waiting list for a studio when one next becomes available, please contact the Clerk to Penton Grafton Parish Council, The Parish Office, The Fairground Craft Centre, Weyhill. The Craft Centre aims to increase involvement in community projects, interacting with all age groups and backgrounds, promoting the practice and appreciation of the arts in general.
