About The Fairground

A creative hub for local arts and crafts in the North Hampshire area, The Fairground Craft and Design Centre consists of 12 individual craft studios and a family run Tearoom offering delicious light lunches and an excellent range of gluten free cakes. In addition the Sheep Shed Gallery offers an exciting exhibition programme and the opportunity for local artists and craftspeople to find an outlet to show and sell their work. The combination of those exhibitions, plus the range of quality work to be found in the studios, makes a unique and enjoyable retail experience. A walk around our characterful studios followed by a cream tea makes the perfect afternoon out.

Most of our craft studios as well as the Sheep Shed Gallery offer art and craft workshops where you can learn new skills, meet new people and have fun. Look at our Studio and Gallery pages for details of the particular workshops currently on offer in each of them.

The site has a long and interesting history. It was the site of The Weyhill Fair once the "greatest Fair in the Kingdom", an agricultural fair which began in medieval times, became enormous in its heyday and continued until the late 1950s.
